Divine Inspiration
The other day a friend of mine sent me an email with the subject line: Thought of You. She proceeded to tell me that she had gone into J. Crew, and she thought they were channeling Isabel Marant— in a good way. As most of you know by now, Isabel Marant, the incredibly talented French fashion designer, who recently opened her first store in New York, is one of my current fashion obsessions. And trust me, I am not alone in that.
Intrigued, I immediately went to the J. Crew web site, and found that the first of the Fall collection had landed. Some of it did seem I.M.inspired—and c’est magnifique, it was. (Just look at the pictures here.) And, I agree with my friend—who by the way, purchased a few things at J.Crew and Isabel Marant that day—it’s an example of the best possible kind of influence.
